Weather: Hot all day - some rain

We got up earlier than ever today ( 5 a.m. ) and headed for Cheyenne Wyoming. We expected to see mountains from Cheyenne but didn't see any until we got to Colorado. Coming out of Cheyenne we took the wrong highway and ended up about 15 miles off course. We finally got on track and headed up the side of the mountains. The road was spectacular and we stopped at a few places to take pictures. The VW took the climb to 8,000 feet quite well. We are camped about 5 miles outside of Estes Park in the Ponderosa Camp Ground which is really a nice place. I think we can finally sleep in tomorrow because we have only 140 miles to travel.
